ABOUT ME
My career in interior design was launched in childhood.
An appreciation of beautiful things has always been a part of who I am. My
mother had a passion for fine antiques, and growing up, our home was filled with
them. My father’s business made draperies and upholstered furniture. I loved
looking at his many fabric selections and decorative trims.
Although married and raising four children, I managed to
incorporate interior design courses and even sewing classes into a busy
routine.
My first home was in Baltimore, Maryland, which I designed
myself. We then moved to a 29 room historic mansion which was an interior
design challenge to be sure. Future moves included Boca Raton, Florida, Las
Vegas, Nevada, Phoenix, Arizona, and finally Carlsbad, California. Living in
such diverse areas offered wonderful design opportunities and I have enjoyed
doing residential projects of many styles through the years.
I frequently collaborate with architects, electricians, and
building contractors to ensure that while enhancing the aesthetics of the
interior and exterior spaces, the end results are safe and functional.
My personal philosophy is to fit the design to the lifestyle and
taste of the client, while remaining mindful of the element of universal appeal
toward the possibility of future resale, sustainability, and the importance of
respecting the challenge of budget.
